At Marcus we like to offer a service you might not find with other watch retailers. One of the things we like to do for our loyal clients is to take them to events and shows, as well as factory visits.
Paloma, our Assistant Manager, recently took two of our very special clients to visit the Greubel Forsey atelier at La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland. The manufacture is set in the mountains of La Chaux-de Fonds which is the highest city in Europe and a listed world heritage site. The building combines a feeling of old farm house with state of the art wood, metal, concrete and glass, and makes an impressive sight as it rises out of the ground.
On arrival the guests were greeted by Stephen Forsey. They had lunch and were given a chance to chat and ask questions about the brand, the watches, and the men behind the brand. Afterwards there was a tour of all the different process - from initial design, cad work, machining and hand polishing - that go into each creation, giving the guests a greater appreciation of how the watches they have purchased are created, and the level of expertise and finishing involved.
After the tour and hospitality from Greubel Forsey, it was back to Geneva via the scenic route, to see the amazing countryside and vineyards. The day ended at the beautiful Mandarin Oriental hotel for a relaxing night’s rest before heading home.
