The second piece from SIHH comes from the masters of the tourbillon, Greubel Forsey, but this time it is not about the tourbillon! They have just released their second ever watch with an added complication. The first was the very popular GMT which is now available in both white and red gold, as well as our own unique Black Platinum version. But now they have expanded their collection with the GF07 Quantième Perpétuel à Équation.
The idea was to create a timepiece that is easy to use and read. Sometimes watches which combine both the Equation of Time and the perpetual calendar can become over-crowded, and it is difficult to read the time and date quickly. Ease of use is important - after all these are complex machines and come in a multitude of designs and shapes incorporating pusher, crown settings and correctors.
With its patented mechanical computer, and a bi-directional crown, this watch takes away all the frustration and with simplified displays makes things really easy. Not forgetting the tourbillon completely, the GF07 uses the 24 seconds tourbillon inclined at 25 degrees. The watch must be pretty good if the ultra-fast tourbillon is not its main selling point!
