Ferrari launch the new California T

Over 400 VIP guests of Ferrari including clients, media and some rather famous faces rubbed shoulders in the prestigious surroundings of London’s Somerset House last week at the launch of the venerable manufacturer’s latest offering, the innovative new California T.

The new California continues the provocative theme of Ferrari drop-tops, unveiled by Ferrari North Europe bosses as “the most stylish vehicle in its class”. Penned by Ferrari’s go-to stylists Pininfarina, it is a sharper, more aggressive take on the previous model.

Of course the headline for this new car is its power-train, with Ferrari returning to a forced induction twin-turbo V8, the first turbocharged engine to feature in a mainstream model since the prized F40, some 25 years ago. The 3.8-litre engine produces 552bhp and 557lb ft of torque, helping propel the car from 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds. Ferrari are understandably proud of the fact that despite being a turbo unit, there is almost no lag and increased throttle response. Despite all of this the car is still more economic and the emissions have been significantly reduced.

As a close partner of Ferrari, Hublot and its New Bond Street boutique were invited to showcase some of the latest pieces from the Big Bang Ferrari collection, alongside a rare appearance from the flagship LaFerrari piece. Click to see more of the collection from Hublot
